Added My VERY First Widget Today!

So, I have been seeing this really cool widget on a lot of blogs lately and I thought I would get myself one. It is a Live Traffic Feed that tells you , if anyone visits your site, what country they are in and what site brought them there. I think it's just going to be cool to see where in the world possible readers may be from. Not that I'm encouraging reading this since it can't be that interesting ; ) but it's pretty neat to know. Just a quick update.

Goodnight!

The Fish In My Tank.

Now, these are some wonderful fish that I've got. They seem to keep me entertained and brighten my day without even knowing it. I just look at them and they are so happy just swimming in their little isolated area. How do they stay so content while only swimming in such limited waters? They.are.awesome.

Their names are Pinky, The Brain, and Abraham. Pinky is the small calico goldfish, The Brain is the big orange and white goldfish, and Abraham is the black big eyed goldfish (like the fish on Different Strokes).

These little fish are always at the house and no, I can't really love on them like I can my dogs but, I've always seemed to find joy in fish. When I was in the sixth grade my science teacher - Mrs. Wells - had us all do three reports on endangered species. I knew right then and there that I wanted to make a habitat with a Siberian Tiger in it - since that summer my grandmother had bought me a stuffed white tiger, one of my favorites back then. I just wasn't sure what species I wanted to do my 3 page - pictures and all! - report on. That's when I decided to ask Mrs. Wells......and that's when I decided what I wanted to go to college for. Although that hasn't seemed to have happened, it is sitll a possibility, but that's another subject entirely. Anyway, good old Mrs. Wells introduced me to the West Indian Manatee, an endangered species that is indigenous to Florida and some of the lower East coast. Since then I have had a love of marine mammals. While Manatees are still one of my favorites I have grown to love Sea Turtles (Honu), Dolphins, and Whales.

For some reason I have seemed to feel at home when I was near the sea. It's entirely strange to say that, though, since the first time I'd ever seen the ocean or been on a beach was in 2008. Those 10 days being surrounded by the ocean were just amazing, you could feel the power of it whenever you were near. But this is all for another post, on another time, preferrably at an earlier time. I have plenty of pictures to show, thoughts to explain, and talk of places I'd like to go. I really just wanted to get on here to post about my fish, test my computer out with blogging and pictures, and hit the hay. I've accomplished what I wanted and more! Til the next time ♥

Oh yeah - forgot to tell you what originally gave me the idea for this post earlier.........When I feed my fish in the morning, they know whats about to happen. They aren't you'r ordinary fish that just meander through life guessing when you feed them......Oh no. These fish know exactly when you open the slot on top of the tank to feed them and are on it waiting for food. Well, I was just giving my fish tank the monthly fill-up - through the food slot - and the fish came up to see what was happening. The Brain was just floating there by the stream of fresh, new water flowing in just goblling up as many bubbles as he possibly could. Once he got bored, Pinky came up from the bottom of the tank and swam to the top.....repeatedly!! lol. I really wish I would have thought to get a camera because it was funny! It all happened so fast that I don't think I would have had time to get it and actually get anything on camera. Well, there's my funny story for the day. I have to remember to post some wedding info on here. I'm just looking at colors so far, haven't picked a date yet!!

Back Up and Running!

So I got myself a fancy new computer on Sunday! This thing is amazing! It's an HP Pavillion with Windows 7 on it and it's just got some amazing features. I love the fact that there is a webcam already built in. It will be good once I'm a ways away from the family. Oh yeah, update time!

After almost 5 long years of waiting Eli finally proposed to me February 13th. He was apparently going to wait until April 1st (which would be our 5 year anniversary) but I guess he was at his sisters house after he picked the ring up from the jewelers. Well, his neices overheard them talking about the engagement and they said they were going to go tell their friends (whose mother I work with at Toyota). Eli decided then that he didn't want to wait for over a month, since the girl's mom might have come up to congratulate me and I would have no clue what she was talking about. Well we were planning our Valentine's Day dinner when Eli suggested this nice 4 or 5 star restaurant in Jefferson City (and we NEVER go to restaurants like that), but he couldn't get reservations because they were closing at 2 on Valentine's Day. I told Eli that he didn't need to spend that kind of money on me and that we should just go to Outback Steakhouse since I've never been there before, to which he agreed. The Saturday before Valentine's Day I was out with my sister and cousin planning a VDay breakfast for mom and when I got home Eli surprised me with the ring. He said he had been wanting to do it for a while, and it was just so sweet!

So, since we are now engaged I've got to begin thinking about military life. Eli will be going off to Navy bootcamp soon and once we're married we'll probably be doing some moving. That's why I like the fact that I have a webcam, so when I'm far away from my mom we can keep in closer touch that way. It'll be nice. From what he's been told, the first place that he will more than likely go to is California - after Chicago for bootcamp of course. Beaches.............ahh.....I can't wait......to get out......of Missouri......not to be negative to Missouri, I've been here my whole life, but I want out. Hawaii really got me wanting to get out of here and near a beach. Hawaii would be a great place to live as well....oh my, I would be in HEAVEN! Beaches, sea turtles, whales, dolphins, lava mountains, exotic fruit and palm trees all around! That would be PERFECT! I would love it if Eli got stationed there for years on end and be able to raise our children there. Of course I'm not going to get my hopes up on that one, Eli already said that if he didn't have to live there he wouldn't, which really sucks. But he's doing this to make him happy to do something that he loved and to be able to support me so I'd better just be happy with that.

This blog has really seemed to turn into a personal blog of some sort, and I'm sure that no one out there in internet land is reading this but I think I'm just going to keep this as a personal blog/journal and create another one for my baking or photography. I've got to start loading some pictures on my computer so that
I can finally post some new ones that I've taken! Here's to me NOT procrastinating! Hopefully anyone who is lucky enough to read my blog : ) will be able to see some recent pictures!!!!!

Much love, and here's to - hopefully - a lot more blogging. I'll have time.
