Since I have not been around as much lately, I thought I should give my few readers an update as to what was going on in my world......
As I announced before, my husband and I are expecting our first child. These past few months have been amazing......although there was some nausea involved in the beginning it hasn't been bad since I started taking my prenatal vitamins. I actually haven't felt this great in a long time....really.
About four months ago we found out that we are having a little boy. I really thought it was going to be a girl just because both my husbands brother and sister have girls and my sister just had a girl as well, but it seems we broke that trend. I am so excited and cannot wait to meet our little boy. My due date is April 1st but I guess we will have to wait and see if he will play any tricks on us as to when he will arrive in the world. As the weeks go by and we get closer to meeting our little man things seem to get more and more real for us.....of course, seeing my belly move from something other than me is out of this world but it makes us realize that we have just two short weeks until he should be here!
I also wanted to show off his room....or at least part of it.....mainly his crib, I just LOVE his bedset! Here it is, enchanted forest!
I was lucky enough to have gotten almost everything that I needed for my little man's arrival at my baby shower. We are truly blessed with all the love and support that we have gotten from friends and family. I really cannot wait to meet my little boy and have our own little family! I can only hope that my he will grow up to be strong and healthy and have a good heart. Of course, that's really what any parent wants for their child.
Just wanted to give a little update as to where I have been and what I have been going through....I hope to post some more soon but we will see exactly what the future brings. I plan on doing online schooling once the baby gets here and with juggling everything my time may be cut back....but we will see. I will try to post again before he gets here otherwise, I will definitely post something once he gets here. Wish me luck! :)

A Little Update
What a grand little update I have! My husband and I, who just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary October 1st (6 1/2 years since we first started dating), are expecting our first child! I am currently 14 weeks along and we could NOT be happier! Since the arrival of my niece on May 7th I have had major baby fever (although I had it before then) and my hubby finally felt he was ready...so here we are! Our little bundle of joy is expected around April 1st, which will be our 7th year together! What a great anniversary gift :)
I have had so many baby things running rampant around my mind, along with so many ideas for the little one to be. We will find out if it is a boy or girl in November, which of course we will....I have to plan too much to not know.

Welcome To The World Emma Nicole
My beautiful niece was born Saturday, May 7th at 2:41 pm. She weighs 6.8 pounds and is 19 3/4 inches long and has a head full of black hair :) She stole my heart the moment I saw her.
I can't wait to see her grow up and to spoil her rotten, of course! It's an aunts job to help spoil ;)

A Mobile for my Niece
I have been looking at some wonderful mobiles on the internet lately and decided I would make my own for little miss Emma.....who should be here within the month. Her room is going to be pink, purple, and PRINCESS! I got my inspiration from the mobile below ↓↓
Isn't that just precious?? I love it! I wanted to do something like it but decided to go with wire hangers. My idea for it changed a few times.....I wanted to use one hanger and then create small triangles out of another and hang those from the first hanger, yarn wrap them, and then make a chain of felt leaves.....then I just decided to go with this.....
I am in the process of creating a tutorial for this if you would like to do it as well.....just watch my blog for that post soon!

I'm baaack :)
So, it's been since about the middle of December since I have really been on here......for shame. I got back and had SO many super awesome blog posts to read but I didn't mind, I follow a lot of lovely, crafty ladies!
Just so you know, I am going to be posting some things, it may take a minute though.....or days :) Bahaha...
I finally got my computer back before January but it has been kind of nice to be disconnected from the internet for a while......at least from my laptop. I got a new phone about a week ago - a Motorola Droid X - and it has gotten me back into the swing of things with the net :) So, now that I'm connected again I will resume posting as normal.
A friend from work gave my sister a TON of baby girl items so baby fever has been running rampant in my household.....I know my husband loves it....lol. So, I have lots of baby posts coming too.
I did realize, while I wasn't posting, that this blog definitely makes me more productive. I did make some things but I think this blog helped me be more accountable for the crafts I make. This is a good thing :)
Enough rambling....I am going to start loading pictures tonight and posting ASAP. If you are reading this, thanks for sticking around. :)

Since I'm Going To Be An Aunt....
..........I have so many ideas that are flowing through me! I have already ventured into onesie making and plushie making and that is mostly what my thoughts consist of so this should be fairly do-able. I have found some cute iron-on transfers for baby onesies and for pregnant women and I would like to attempt to make my own sometime. I have also seen some really cool repurpose tutorials for childrens clothes and would like to try that as well! I have got baby fever so thank goodness for my sister having her baby, lol...This way I can get my baby time in before we try for a little one :) which is going to be a while.
I have also been looking into toys to make for children when they're older.....I know I would have loved play sets made of felt. I have had some really great inspiration from the few photos below.
I really need to work on my photography skills. This should hopefully prove to be worthy of photographing once we figure out what she is having and I get things going! Anyway, those toys are more for older children so I have some time for those.
So.......does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for cute kids toys? I would love to hear all your ideas and maybe I can even try a few! I have a few tricks up my sleeve! :)

I have also been working on a few things I may or may not use but I will definitely shoot and post when they're done!

The above three pictures are all pay-to-downloads available on etsy if you click on the links below. The next few are pieces I made but I am considering again, but larger :)

Onesies With A Slightly Homemade Touch :)
This post is about a week later than promised.....there has been a lot of excitement in the Aitkens/Soukup Household this past week. Soon, we will become just the Aitkens household. Details about that will be coming soon :)
Anyway, I had posted two weeks ago that I was working on something for my 'nephew' (I call him my nephew since his mother and I have been besties since kindergarten)...Little Logan's first birthday is coming up October 7th, and I wanted to do something special for the little guy! I was shopping in JoAnn's and I saw this cute section that had onesies and the most adorable iron-on transfers and it practically called to me! It turned out really easy to do! I am definitely going to be doing this more often!
I thought they turned out rather well! I absolutely love the last one, even though they are all adorable! I think it would be pretty fun to possibly make my own iron-on transfers.....humm....something to ponder tonight. :) Nighty-night!

Something New.....
Just wanted to say I know I haven't posted anything crafty in a while and I want you to know that I am working on something adorable right now! Hopefully I will get it done this weekend so I can snap a few pics.....until then I will leave you guessing as to what it is. I will give you one hint though. It is for my friends son who is turning 1 in October. Here's the little man!
nighty night!
